Residents of Jacksonville embrace the past and also look to the future. You can help support a sustainable energy future by
joining the Jacksonville Blue Sky renewable energy challenge today.
Local City government is leading the way by purchasing 50 Blue Sky blocks for the City Hall each month. This is equal to more
than 100 percent of their electricity use. Many residents and local businesses are already on board as well - and we would
like to say, THANK YOU!

To encourage even more support for renewable energy, the City of Jacksonville teamed up with the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce,
Britt Festivals and Pacific Power to challenge local residents and businesses to enroll in the Blue Sky program by the end
of October
2008. The goal is to have at least 10 percent of the community enrolled in the program - which will earn national recognition
for Jacksonville.
With your help - we can reach this goal!
How we are doing so far...
The challenge kicked off in May 2008 and enrollments are steadily climbing. Currently 8.4 percent of the community is enrolled
in the Blue Sky program. As of August 27, we are only 60 sign-ups shy of reaching our goal of 10 percent.
Collectively, Jacksonville residents, businesses and local city government are making and impact, but working together we
can do even more. Today - by supporting renewable energy through the Blue Sky program, the community is encouraging renewable
energy production equivalent to the energy 260 typical households in Jacksonville might use each month. This is equivalent
to planting over 792,000 trees!

What can you do?
By enrolling during the challenge, you will make a difference for clean air, renewable energy and independence from fossil
fuels. When we reach our goal, the community of Jacksonville is expected to create benefits equivalent to preventing the release
of 46,500 tons of carbon dioxide each year, which is equivalent to taking nearly 8,000 cars of the road.

What is Blue Sky?
The Blue Sky renewable energy program is a voluntary program offered by Pacific Power which allows you to support renewable
energy above what Pacific Power includes in its system mix. While we are making strides to add more renewable energy to our
mix, you can choose to support renewable energy equal to any portion of your monthly usage by enrolling in the Blue Sky program
- reducing your environmental footprint and driving demand that will help create a more sustainable energy future.
When you enroll in Blue Sky, you have several options as an Oregon customer. Each option supports newly developed renewable
energy generation and hastens renewable energy development for future generations, while promoting resource diversity and
reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. For more information on the options available to you,

How do I know I am getting what I pay for? Did you know the Blue Sky program is Green-e Energy certified? This means that each year an independent non-profit audits purchases made on behalf of Blue Sky customers to ensure that
customers get what they pay for.
